The mysto is designed specifically for surfing, but also does well in flat water. If you have a beach house and wand a kayak with a lot of utility, and a bent for fun, the Mysto is designed for you. The Mysto handles like a sports car in the surf.

Kayak Surfing With The Mysto

This surf height is about right for the begining surfer. You need nice clean surf about a foot and a half or two feet high. If it is bigger than that wait for a better day.

Watch the surf and start paddling before it gets to you. It will take a bit of practice to get your timing right.

Kayak surfing is a lot of fun. You need a couple of accessories; a good paddle leash and a set of thigh straps. You will find this gear in our Kayak Seat Section.

The Mysto is designed for fun in the surf, but it does well in flat water as well. A fun boat with utility. It was designed for begining to intermediate paddlers. Be sure to wear your PFD. Things happen fast out there and if you aren't wearing it you will be too late.

Ocean Kayak has stopped drop shipping for us, so we no longer get the flat rate shipping charges that made our free shipping program for these kayaks possible. Miami area customers can pick their kayak up at the warehouse, at the price listed plus state tax. We do however, have free shipping on our new Malibu Kayaks line.
